…don’t forget the dog! Much like the Princess and the Pea, drywall inspector Bruno can feel a defect under up to 7 sheets of drywall. Luckily this batch passed muster, and hanging is proceeding — THANKS, mom and dad! It’s looking great!

Looks good, but I thought drywall was usually hung upright, yes? Or is your basement too short to fit a full piece?

“Most pros prefer the horizontal method because it usually involves fewer butt joints and has only one seam joint – at an easy-to-work-with height all the way around the room.”

… but also, yes, our basement is too short to stand a piece up in.

Well, we’re no pros, but I had seen drywall hung horizontally, and always thouight that was the way to do it. If we had done this vertically, we’d only have the good joints on the vertical and the ceiling joint would be the same. so, maybe we should have done it the other way. But i really don’t think it will matter, as long as we can hide the vertical butt joint with a good mud patch.
